Casey's Place

CASEY’S PLACE, 917 Azalea Lane, Vero Beach, 231.4790, www.caseysplace.net

There’s just something about Casey’s Place that makes being there a pure delight. Sitting at one of his community tables, under a colorful umbrella with the sun and shade playing over the whole scene almost feels like being part of a painting of a scene in Florida. And then there are those burgers. They’re the best, his customers say. “They’re a combination of a lot of things,” owner Casey Steil says. The beef is Black Angus and all the burgers are 6 ounces. They are grilled over an open flame and they are based with a special mixture. We have a lot of toppings. The bread is really good and it’s toasted. “Our deluxe cheeseburgers are best sellers.” They go through 230 pounds of bacon every six days, he says. He credits Deirdre Williams, who has worked there for 27 years, with making sure everything is served as smoothly as possible. “She knows your name and what you like to eat,” he says. Casey’s Place opened in 1981 and it’s been a favorite of a lot of people ever since.

"The hamburgers are pure heaven."

"You can’t visit Vero without getting a Casey burger."
