Lolas clams

LOLA’S SEAFOOD EATERY, 962 St. Lucie W. Blvd., Port St. Lucie, 871.5533, www.lolasseafood.com

People who live in or near St. Lucie West are lucky. They don’t have far to go to find some of the very best seafood on the Treasure Coast. Lola’s Seafood Eatery features a New England style menu. The chef chooses the freshest ingredients, including the whole belly clams beloved by New Englanders and reportedly sometimes hard to find elsewhere. The eatery offers Ipswich clams and makes a great fish and chips. Diners rave about the coconut grouper, the ahi tuna and spicy clams. Everything is homemade including the sauces and dressings, and the delicious peach or apple cobbler. The two couples who own Lola’s in St. Lucie West, Lise and Bernard Uffer and Laurie and Charlie Paolino, work hard to make sure diners are satisfied enough to want to come back. With many praising its New England-style seafood and the soft-shell clams, Lola’s has earned four stars on TripAdvisor.
