Square Grouper

Whether you are arriving by land or sea, outdoor restaurants on the Treasure Coast abound. Here are some readers and staff selected in our summer outdoor dining contest.

Square Grouper Tiki Bar, 1920 Seaway Drive, Fort Pierce, 561.406.6417, Squaregrouper.net

Perched above the Fort Pierce Inlet adjacent to South Jetty Park, the Square Grouper Tiki Bar offers a terrific view across the sparkling water of Fort Pierce Inlet State Park beaches and jetty and of boats large and small traveling through the inlet.

The Square Grouper Tiki Bar caters to the 21-and-over crowd with live entertainment nightly and a large seating area overlooking the water. Sip some of the most creative beverages around while relaxing at one of the outdoor tables, or feast on some of their burgers, sandwiches, which include locally caught grouper, and snacks such as coconut shrimp, nachos, wings and conch fritters.

The fun and tropical vibe is laid back beach bar-style with no dress code and no wait staff so you can pick up your food and sit wherever you like and for as long as you like.

“The height of Square Grouper above the seawall gives you a great view of boats going in and out of the inlet. The vantage point almost gives you the feeling of being on a boat.”

“Large seating area that borders on the Fort Pierce Inlet, with views of the state park at the North Jetty. Great place to enjoy some drinks and the view.”
